You can add your Dropbox folder to the Files app on your Chromebook so you can access files stored on your device and in your Dropbox account in one place. To do so, you must be a ChromeOS user and be signed in to the Dropbox Android app on your Chromebook.
To access your Dropbox account in the Files app:
- Open the Files app on your Chromebook.
- Click the menu icon (it looks like three horizontal lines).
- Click your Dropbox folder.
- If you connected your work and personal Dropbox accounts on your Chromebook, you'll see both folders.
Note: If you uninstall the Dropbox Android app, your Dropbox folder will be removed from the Files app.
What Dropbox features are available on the Files app?
In the Dropbox folder in the Files app, you can:
- Choose between different Dropbox accounts
- Browse your files
- Add files
- Sort files by name/modified time/size/type
- Delete files
- Export/download files
- Create new folders
- See file previews

Some Dropbox features aren't available from the Files app. These features include:
- Managing shared folder sharing settings.
- Searching your Dropbox folder
- Real-time collaboration on files (currently, if two people edit a file at the same time, they create conflicted copies)
- Commenting on files
- Recovering recently deleted Dropbox files from the Recently Deleted menu
- Moving files or folders to a folder that you haven't opened yet (some folders aren't listed as possible locations unless you open that folder before attempting the move)
- If a passcode is set up for the Dropbox app, your Dropbox folder isn't available in the Files app
- Accessing files in the Dropbox folder while offline
